Rooms & Suites
Working in collaboration with Tommaso Ziffer, who also designed the interior of the Hotel de Russie in Rome, Olga Polizzi has given this historical structure a quite breathtaking and unique interior. Original architectural features have been lovingly restored and, in other cases, re-interpreted – the room doors, for example, are designed to be reminiscent of bank vault doors.
The 146 rooms, including 43 suites, are all equipped with the very latest in technological facilities, including flat screens and internet access. Some are even provided with DVD players and iPod docking stations. All bathrooms have separate bathtubs and glass-walled shower cabins, limestone washstands and attractive mosaic decorations. The generously proportioned, elegant suites have separate dining areas, walk-in cupboards, dressing rooms and separate guest toilets.
Thanks to the generous proportions of the original historical building, the rooms and suites on the first to third floors have ceilings at a height of 3.2 - 5 m, providing them with a special ambience. Depending on type, rooms are 35 - 42 sqm. If you require more space, our Junior suites are nearly 50 sqm and have a separate seating area. Most of our Classic and Executive suites, which measure 60 - 70 sqm, have separate living and sleeping areas.
Particularly attractive are our four Historic suites, which have been created from the former offices of the bank directors. Most have views of the Bebelplatz and ceilings of up to nearly 5 m high. The original wood panelling has been retained, and is bound to take guests on a journey into the past. Our Bebel suite can be recommended to those seeking a special experience. It has its own kitchen and a balcony nearly 10 m in length directly overlooking the Bebelplatz.
