Facilities

Our five Classic suites measure 60 - 65 sq m. Three have separate living and sleeping areas, balconies with furniture and walk-in cupboards, providing you with a wonderfully spacious home from home. The suites are situated so that they provide views either of St. Hedwig's Cathedral, the Französische Strasse, or overlook the magnificent Bebelplatz.

Bathroom

The spacious bathroom of our Classic Suite is finished in marble with variable mosaics and features a separate shower and a bidet as well as heated floor and sound system. The Rocco Forte Collections exclusive range of Italian bathroom products are provided, in addition to a unique two way mirror system and fluffy bathrobes for guests' enjoyment.

Facilities

The building that now houses the Hotel de Rome was formerly the Dresdner Bank and the Opera suite used to be the office of the bank manager Eugen Gutman - a truly historical home from home. This breathtaking suite, measuring a generous 65 sq m, has a large living/bedroom with original Art Nouveau-style oak panelling that retains traces of the Second World War in the form of damage caused by pieces of shrapnel. The wall cabinet in the right-hand corner of the room previously contained a small cocktail cabinet. Situated on the first floor, directly overlooking the Bebelplatz, the ceilings in the suite are nearly 5 m in height. The parquet floors and tall, leather-clad doors are consistent with the style of the period. The large bathroom, with a view of the Bebelplatz, is clad in Carrara marble, has two hand basins, a large shower and free standing bath. This room can be connected to the Behren suite next door.

The Behren suite on the first floor was formerly one of the bank manager's offices and has magnificent views of the imposing Bebelplatz. The suite, measuring nearly 65 sq m, has a separate living room and bedroom. The walls are covered with the original mahogany veneer, which still retains the damage caused by shrapnel during the Second World War. The ceiling, at nearly 5 m in height, the original leather-clad doors and the parquet flooring give the suite a unique elegance. It is also has a four person dining table. The luxurious bathroom, with decorative sandstone mosaic, has a walk-in shower and separate bathtub, bidet, underfloor heating and an individually adjustable loudspeaker system. The Behren suite can be used in combination with the Opera suite via a connecting door.

Facilities

Our three Executive suites measure 75 sq m, have separate living and sleeping areas, dressing rooms and guest toilets. Each has its own exclusive small terrace or balcony overlooking the Französische Strasse or St. Hedwig's Cathedral. These suites are located on the top floor (fifth floor) of the hotel.

Facilities

The Renaissance suite (measuring nearly 80 sq m) was formerly one of the conference rooms of the bank. The walls and ceiling of the separate living room are completely covered by sumptuous, stylistically exceptional, original oak panelling. Left and right of the entrance there were once phone booths: These have been converted into a walk-in cupboard on one side and a bathroom on the other. The concealed wooden door in the bookcase once provided access to the administration department. A secret compartment is located next to the left-hand window. The lever that operates it can be found in the window surround. In addition to a large writing desk, the suite also features a dining table that seats four persons. The luxurious bathroom, with decorative sandstone mosaic, has a walk-in shower and separate bathtub, bidet, underfloor heating and individually adjustable loudspeaker system.

Also formerly a manager's office on the first floor, the Humboldt suite (approximately 90 sq m) directly overlooks the Bebelplatz. Its large living room boasts a magnificent oak-coffered ceiling dating from 1889, the year the bank was built. The ceiling of the bedroom, separated by tall, leathered-clad doors, retains the original beams. Additional features include a dining table seating four, a separate guest toilet and the option of combining the suite with a small Junior suite by means of a connecting door. The large bathroom,with a view of the Bebelplatz, is clad in Carrara marble and has two hand basins, underfloor heating, a large shower cubicle and a free standing bath.

Facilities

The generous 120 sq m Bebel suite is the largest suite at the Hotel de Rome and has an imposing balcony overlooking the historic Bebelplatz that extends the full width of the suite and can be accessed from the living room and the bedroom. Leading off the vestibule of the suite are a guest toilet on one side and a walk-in cupboard on the other. The extensive living room with its contemporary furnishings opens onto a separate dining room with attached kitchen (separate entrance). The bedroom has parquet flooring and a large separate dressing room furnished with a gorgeous marble bath. It is also possible to add a second bedroom via a connecting door.
Guests in this suite are provided with top-class security arrangements, including bullet-proof glazing and a video access monitoring system.

Bathroom

The spacious bathroom of our Bebel Suite has windows overlooking the Bebelplatz and features limestone vanity tops, glass panelling and a beautiful mosaic as well as two separate basins.
